Lee Reynolds
One of the West Coast’s most prolific and admired artists, Lee Reynolds was born in Los Angeles in 1936 and received his fine arts degree from the University of Southern California. Lee enlisted in the US Army after which he realized he wanted to start his own fine art business. In the 1960’s, he asked his mother for a small loan, and he founded Vanguard Studios in Beverly Hills, California. Lee’s paintings captured the eye of many West Coast clients and decorators, and it is reported he sold thousands of paintings to collectors in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, making both him and his fine art sought after modern painter who created some of this country’s most instantly recognizable fine art. Lee was commissioned to paint numerous large-scale artworks which have hung in the Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, and a 21 foot triptych displayed in the famous Los Angeles Airport for more than 20 years. Lee moved from Los Angeles to New York City in 1981 where he continued to paint but with a more contemporary aesthetic. Lee’s fine art can be found in many private and public collections.
